Sickle Cell Disease Programme
The aim of this initiative is to improve the care of children affected by this disease. Sickle cell disease, also known as sickle cell anemia, is an inherited genetic disorder that affects hemoglobin (the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen) and requires ongoing monitoring. This disease, which weakens the patient through pain, infections, and fatigue, involves various complex aspects (preventive, therapeutic, educational, academic and professional, psychological, and cultural).
